A meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the FIRST day of MARCH, 1954, commencing at the hour of TEN OlCLòçK in the forenoon. Reeve George T. Todd, in the Chair Deputy-Reeve K~nneth A. Roberts Councillor Hugh ~. Michell Councillor William G. Lawson and Councillor Wi+liam G. Newman. MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that 'Pickering Township Fire Area No. 2 pay the stourrville Fire Brigade $100.00 per year standby tima to serve Altona Area. CARRIED. ,. MOVED by Dr. Roberts, ~econded by Mr. Lawson, that Council be authorized to recommend to delegates Michell ani Robe-rts, that they vote in r.avour of the Durrin-Rouge-Highland Creek Conservation Authority at Markham on March 10th 1954. CARRIED. . , MOVED by Dr. Roberts, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Council give a capital grant or $2,000. to the Ajax-Pickaring Township Hospital. CARRIED. . . . ' MOVED by Mr. Newman, secĹ“nded by Dr. Roberts, that Council pay the Oshawa GeneraL Hospital $400.00 as a grant on their bill of $l~ 265.12 being . estimated cOlt or additional indigent service in the year 1953.
