BROUGHAM
An Emergent Meeting of Council was held on Thursday, the Fifth day of
November, 1953, at 7:30 o'clock in the evening.

The following PERSONS, on MDTION, were heard:
1. HuKh Gre~, Claremont, asked for more compensation for sheep
· damage.
2. W. C. Willson recommended Five Dollars extra for three sheep for
Mr. Gregg.
3. Mr~ Dancey and others of Pickering Beach asked for a survey re
drainage, north-west corner of subdivision.
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded byMr. Michell, that Hugh Gregg be paid
an extra Twenty Dollars on sheep damage paid November 2, 1953. CARRIED
MDVE~ by Nr. Michell, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Mr. J. O. Sp~ug
be paid Five Dollars extra for five sheep for an increase of Twenty-
Five Dollars over payment made November 2, 1953. CARRIED
~0VED by Nr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Michell, that Clerk write Mr.
r. A. Boucher for a survey on Pickering Beach drainage dispute..CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Michell, that Tender of Claude
Smith to crush lO,000 yards gravel @ 445 be accepted. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Michell, that the Haubbaurer
proposed Plan in Plan 282, Lot 5 be accepted without Municipal water.
CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Michell, that. Council grant
Brougham Baseball Club One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) in recognition
of their being 1953 O.A.S.A. Intermediate D Champions of the Province
of Ontario. CARRIED
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Nuilding By-Law re
size of houses be changed from minimum 700 square feet one-storey and
600 square feet two-storey to 960 square feet one-storey, 750 square
feet one and one-half storey, and 650 square feet two-storey.
MOVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that the minimum size
of a building residential lot with Municipal water service be increased
from fifty foot frontage and 7500 square feet to sixty foot frontage
and 9000 square feet. CARRIED
CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
Call Mr. Melville Grant re his taking Eviction Cases.
2. Call J. D. Millar re Agreement Township building "service" road
in B.F.R.3, Lot 27.
3. Write A. H~me, Road Department cleaning out east ditch opposite
her home so that water can get away better; also hope to deepen
waterway to east.
4. Write Wm. Heron to ditch south side of east-west street south
of Mr. Linders so water will get away from Harwood Drive.
