M. .PRESENT: George T. Todd, in the Chair Clare A. Balsdon Hugh G. Michell William G. Newman William G. Lawson Lloyd T- Johnston The following CORRESPONDENCE was read: 1. Proctor~ Redfern and Laughlin, reported that their drilling for a Township water supply at Fairport was encouraging, and recommend- , .ed that' ~eepEa'~l~rybe° d~g tb ~est the flow of water at a cost of three days at ~ 100.00, or if shorring is necessary, $ 150.00 per day, to possibly cost $700.00 to $800.00. 2. The Clerk reported that he had been ~mable to find any corres- pondence whereby ~r..Cowan~ Sr., had giVen Rosebank roadS to the. Township. 3, .Ontario. Municipal. Board% advising'that H. A. Newman Assessment Appeal on 1952- 1953 Assessment would be heard by them on Wednesday, September 30, 1953, at 10 A. m., at 67 College Street, Toronto. $. Mr, .M~Arr, Canadian National Railway, reported that they had been very busy but would get suggestions for zoning our industrial area out as soon as possible. 5. Sqarbo~ou~h Public Utilities Commission advised-that they would not sell Picketing water, but it would be dealt with by the Metropolitan Area after January 1, 1954. MDVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, that Proctor Redfern a~d Laughlin proceed with a test hole for water supply at Fairport, as per their letter of August 12th last. CARRIED Clerk's Instructions 1. Have Mr. Ward supply cost of taking over Rosebank hill. 2. Bill Mrs. Dean for $ 1.00 for grading Rosebank roads, and look for Road Agreement with Mr. Cowan, Senior in 1901 or 1902. 3. Check Plawmen Association grants for 1951 - 1952. $. InclUde in W. ~. Hough Shopping Centre By-Law that business buildings must be set back fifty feet from lot line which they face, and that there shall be no apartments over stores. BY-LAW NUMBER.1968 Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Michell, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law to permit the Village of Picketing to lay watermains on certain Township roads, and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Newman, seconded by Hr. Balsdon, moves that By-Law Number 1968 to permit the Village of Picketing to lay watermains on certain Township roads, be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. - 2 - The Committee of theW hole then arose and reported-. Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the Beport of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number [96~ be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and passed; that the Heeve and Clerk'sign the same, and that the seal:of the Corporation be affixed thereto. ~ARR~ED On MOTION of Mr. Balsdon, the me,ting adjourned.
