PoliCe Re~.ort .. . ~.~ "October has been a heavy accident month, and several charges have been laid as a result of investigation into their cause. Th~ trailer sit- ~uatton is well in hand and I am looking' for the most outstanding case in the individual trailer set-up to lay ~a test case. The safe for the office has been installed and it Will b~ a great con- venience in providing a safe Place for valuable stolen property. The Hallowe'en neght was the busiest I have ever seen. John Forgie, advising that the survey of road in front of new School ~ection 3 East school has been ~hauged to run straight west. On checking with the Department they advised that this was done on their recommendation ~nd approved by ~r. HugEins. Nr.~ Lloyd, of Conces~sion l, Lot l, was heard re drainage. 4.Nr. Wadsworth, of J. L. Graham, submitted a Tender for our $ ~0,~00.00 DebentLu~es. ~ M~. Mills, of Ajax, asked for an Agreement with Fire D~partment. 6. A. F. Percy, Co~ncession '3, Lot 1~,~, complained about culvert south of his gate - Line Fence - ownership of lands west of C.P.R. bri~dge, and wanted to buy trees on road. 7- Constable Masters asked for flares, -fire extinguisher, first ~id · kit, and overcoat. Agreed that he get same. 8. Dr. Tomlinson was heard, statin~that Dr. Puffer of the Department ~'~-H~ommended that h~e~-ake action re Heron evictions, and· that he would follow the Department's advice. MOVED by M~. Newman, seconded by Mr. Burk, that Council do not pay ba~nce of $ 189.~ for indigent patients treated in Oshawa Mosoital for period, January 1st to September 30th. CARRIED MOVED by M~. Balsdon, seconded by M~ Michell, that H A. Newman be \~ rebated Police costs in 19~2 on lots which received a reductio~ at . · Court of Revision for 1~3. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Council instal a culvert in front of A~glican Hall on Concession l, Dunbarton, where old one is broken, without charge. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Michell, seconded by Mr. Burk, that F, ~eeth ~.~ owner of Lot 7~, Plan 28L.~, who has erected an artistic fence well on road allowance, be required to ~emove same to Township road line. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Michell, that Clerk write Whitby Township Council a~king them to inspect~ and if necessary clean out first cement box culvert south of C. N. R. on Townline in Concession l, as for several years this ~Council have had complaints from Mr. Lloyd that because of the cuIvert his lands are flooded. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Burk, that the offer of $ 97.?~ plus cost of printing debentures as submitted by J. L. Debentures for School purposes, be now r e~d a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. -7- By-Law No. 1919 - Continued Mr. W. G. Newman, seconded by Mr. M. B. Burk, moves that the Report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 1919 to authorize the borrowing of $ 80,500.00 upon Debentures for School purposes, be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Balsdon, moves for le ave to introduce a By-Law to establish a Community Centre at Frenchman's Bay, and that same now be read a first time. ~r. W. G. Newman, seconded by ~. Burk, moves that By-Law No. 1923, to establish a Community Centre at French_man's Bay be now read a second time, and that the Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. ~,~r. Michell, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 1923 be now adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and passed; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and that the seal of the Corporation be affixed there to.
