Todd, Chairman Milton S. Burk C. A. Balsdon Hugh G. Michell William G. Newman The MINUTES of the previous meeting, held May ~th, 19~2, were read, ~and on Motion of Mr.~Balsdon, seconded by'Mr. Burk, ADOPTED. The MINUTES of an~Emergent meeting, held May 21st, 1952, were read, and on Motion of Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Burk, ADOPTED. The MINUTES of an Emergen$ meeting, held May 28th, 1952, were read, and on Motion of Mr. Newman, seconded by Mr. Burk, ADOPTED. ? The following CORRESPONDENCE was read: 1. Ernest Scott asked for a light under Canadian National Railway tunnel at Dunbarton. 2. Wells Ritchie suggesting Council use rubber mixture for road re- surfacing. 3- Mrs. W. T. Heron, copy of letter sent M.0.H. who condemned their cabins. No Action. Chief Trinnel~, asking to use Constable Dand as Relief Officer for holiday period to commence June l, 19~2. 5- Robert Crosie.~, Presiden$ of Fairport Beach Association, agreed that a culvert be placed across Lake Front Street if drainage from road is carried straight south. 6. Robertson~ Lane~ Perrett abd Frankish, Solici' ~rs for G. M. Reid, owner of Lots ? - 8, Plan 320, asked for permission to use proposed store for a dwelling. Council agreed if I~r. Prouse wo~ld have proper roof on structure. 7. Police Report May ha§ once again raised the Juvenile problem and a great deal ~ of our work has centred around the areas where they congregate, two very young ones are in custody and several others are in the process of p~ying for their misdeeds in a financial way~ Accidents and traffic have been the bigEest problem and will increase as the season advances. One major case has been very successfully handled, and arrests have been made. A la~ge quantity of Automotive equipment stolen from General Motors and North York has been recovered with the co-operation of Oshawa City Police, General I~Iotors police, ~and the Scarborough Police Department. It was necessary to watch a cache in a heavy wooded area, on a twenty-four hour basis, and throuEh the co-operation of the 0shawa City Police, General Motors Polic~, who provided six men.to keep observation, arrests were made. Over $2,000.00 value in goods were recovered. The new Constables are a worthy addition to the Department, and I am very pleased with their efforts. Respectfully submitted, "L. W. The following PERSONS were, on MOTION, heard: 1. Mr. E. ~. Jones, askin~ per~ission to attend Assessor,s Conventio~ at St. Catharines June ~ - 5 - 6 as a delegate. 2. ~Nr. Smilie, Solicitor for Mr. Taylor, cab driver, asking Council ~o a~ree to give'"!~is client a license for 1952. 3. Mr. Crosier, askin~dit~hes be opened in frOnt of his~p~pe~ty in~Fairport Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Hu~hson, Fairport Beach, asking Council to assist th~m in purchasing another Iot onWhich they could move thei~ cottage, ~ich is necessary o~i~g to .... o~ion. No Action. 5. Mr. Watt, of Fairport Beach, asking that Council take over Park Crescent as Township Road, as it was included on Asreement and Petition. 6. Pedlar People (culvert) representative~sk~ng Council for a share 6f Township business. 7. Mr. Warner and delegation, askin~ that~road in front of his prooerty be ditct that water be taken south to lake. 8. Mr. F. V. Bradley, Plan 228, askin~ for a ~ennel License. Agreed Mr. ~.~ichel~ and ~r. Newman investigate, and if in order License to be issued. MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by ~, Burk, that Mr. E. F. Jones attend the Assessors' ~onvention and Mr. L. T. Johnston attend Clerk Treasurers, Convention as delegates. CA~RIE~D MOVE~ by Mr. Newman, seconded by ~grJ Balsdon, that in cases where a house is ~rned, Council wiI1 waive ~300.00 Building Deposit and fee and that a trailer may be used by the family for six months and possibly renewed for six months if permit is immediately taken out. Newman at his home, Lot~ 14, Con~ession 6, Saturday, June 7th next. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Ne~wnan, seconded by'~. Michell, that the Police Chief act to fill in ~aps of duty when staff is on holidays. CARRIED. MOVED by Mr. Michell, seconded by Mr. Newman, that Clerk write Police Chief requiring that Po~ice cars be serviced every two weeks where cars are purchased. CARRIED MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Newman, that unopened 'sideline between -3- Lots 20 - 21 (south) be not sold to owner whose property abuts on both sides. CARRIED AGREED that Beal Roberts be not permitted to move his trailer onto his new lot to be lived in while building his house.
