PRESENT.:... ~ Reeve ~w. H. Westney, in the Chair , Deputy-Reeve N.E.McEwen · Councillor C.A.Balsdon " F.E.Zinkie and " M.B.Bumk. 00RRESPONDENCE read:- 1. E. Thomas, Jr, complaining about ditch filled with water and garbage dumped in it. Agreed that Road Superintendent fill up~ when dry. 2. Department of MuniciPal Affairs, enclosing approval for our By-law No. 1869 re remuneration of Councillors. 3. Board of Transport Co-,~issioners, advising they will not ~ re0o~mm.en~d wig-wags at Falrport Road and Roaebank crossings. Department of Highways. Mr. Ramsay to check up on extending 30 mile speed limit west of Dunbarton School. 5- Letter and petition of 85 names presented, requesting that Counail do not pass By-law to prohibit parking on F~enchman's Re - OALCIUM. CHLORIDE: Number of homes in Township 3,~11 " " on private roa~s, paved roads, County roads and Police Villages 1,006 Eligible for calcium chloride 2,~05 ON MOTION, the following PERSONS were HEARD:- 1. Mr. Torrens .and seven members of Fairport Ratepayers Association objecting to "No Parking" signs. 2. Mm. Torrens wanted more private culverts on roads taken over in ~enchman' s Bay. 3- Dick Tweedie re fence bonus. Messrs Messer and Morley - presented the Ajax-Picketing water agreement and a proposed by-law for Picketing Township to pass re zoning. MOVED by Mr. F.E.Zinkie, seconded by Dr. N.E.McEwen, that the mo---~n passed on May 15th 1951, prohibiting parking on Frenchman's Bay Road, be rescinded. CARRI___.__.~_~. Mo~_~ by Mr. F.E.Zinkie, seconded by Mr. M.B.Bumk, that Eddie Ashton ckering Beach be permitted to move his cottage back some feet fumther on his lot and placed on cement blocks as a temporary measure, due to lake erosion. CARRIED. Continued: -2- 0LERK' S INSTRUCTIONS:- 1. Arrange a meeting between Mr. Melville Grant and Council on Monday, May 28th, next at 7.45 p.m. 2. Stop burning of rubber in garbage dump. 3. Infox~a Road Superintendent not to post t~enchman, s Bay Road "No Parking". Ask Road Superintendent to order 12 "Not a through Road" signs. On MOTION of D~. N.E.McEwen, the meeting then adjourned.
