An EMERGENT MEETING of Council was held on WEDNESDAY EVENING~ NOVEMBER 8t
19~O, commencing at 8 P.M.
PRESENT: Deputy-Reeve George T. Todd, in the Chair.

the Reeve, Mr, W.H.Westney, being absent.
Messrs: Albert Hull, J. R. Martin and A.A. Grills, with Mr. Sum~er of
the A.. M, Kerr E~uipment~ L~mited, (?.W~.D.Trucks) sat in.
Mm. Hull presented two letters from the S.W.Pickering Township Fire Area
advising that their Committee had recommended certain fire-fighting
equipment, amounting to $3,7~5.%~, and a used F.W.D. truck carrying
one thousand gallons of water, for $~,07% plus $300. for booster pump,
be purchased.
After considerable discussion, it was MOVED by H~. M.B.Burk, seconded
by Mr. Clare Balsdon, that the Eecommen---~on of the Fire Committee
for auxiliary equipment be accepted with the addition of one axe, one
bar and an extra nozzle; said list to be :-

MOVED by H~. Ztnkie, seconded by Mr. Burk, that Council order 'the purcha
r~A. M. Kerr Equipment Limited, of one used, 19~8 model HA F.W.D.
(foum wheel dmive) truck, as quoted in their letter of October 30th, 19
for the sum of $~,075.07 plus $300. for a booster pump and $50.00 for a
Siren - or a total of $4,~25.00 - all mounted. CARRIED.
MOVED by Mr. Zinkie, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that Council pumchase
~6~he Fire A~ea one 5 H.P. 60-cycle ARP Siren for $225.00 from
Frankel B~others. CARRIED.
MOVED by Mr. Balsdon, seconded.by Mr. Zi~kie, that the ladder on
new Fire Engine for I~lre A~ea be 36 feet extension - of 2 - 18' -
and not 2~ feet as shoWn on the standard equipment. CARRIED.
