BROUGHAM'.
An EMERGENT MEETING of Council met on S_~ptember 14th,1949~
All Members were present, the Reeve in the Chair.
The following persons, on motion, were heard:-
1. .ROSS IRWIN, Chairman of the High School Board, re
proposed High School and Ajax enlargement.
2. C.E. MORLEY, and A. E. AIRD of Imperial Life
Assurance Company, Who presented a proposal for
a Township Pension Plan.
MOVED by Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Todd, that Mr. Westney,
Ross Irwin, Cyril Morley and Johnston meet Mr. Grant and
give direction for Council's action re Ajax at Municipal
Board meeting. CARRIED.
By-law
No.1792 Mr. M.Burk, seconded by Mr. E.F.Disney, moves for leave
to introduce a By-law to authorize the borrowing of
$466,000. upon debentures for the building and equipping
of a High School.
Mr. M. Burk, seconded by Mr. George Todd, moves tha~ By-law
No. l?gE, to authorize the borrowing of $A66,000. upon
debentures for the building and equipping of a High School,
be now read a second time, and that the Council go into
Committee of the whole thereon. CARRIED.
It was agreed that Council meet again on Wednesday,
September 21st, 1949, at ?.Z0 P.~. regarding the Pension
Plan and Municipal Fire Service.
MOVED by Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Balsdon, that the
meeting be adjourned.
