A~Emergent Meeting of the Members of Council was held in the Municipal Building on March 31st 1949, at one o'clock in the afternoon. All Members were present, the Reeve in the Chair. The following correspondence wes read :- Cortes- 1. C.R.Purcell - complaint about cutting trees on pondenoe Con.1 opposite lots 33, 34 and 35. r~ad 2. County Clerk - re hospitalization Ronald Boisclair 27 Elgin Street, Ajax - _ACCEPTED. 3. 0ounty Clerk - re hospitalization Robert and Catherine Munroe, Dumbarton. ACCEPTED. 4. F.M. Richardson - complaint about rahge lime opposite lots 1 and 2. Road Superintendent to inspect. 5. Secretary S.S. Area ~l - requests $2,500 on account 1949 levy. .. GRANTED. 6. Plokering Township H.S. Board - request for $3,000. (three thousand dollars) on account 1949 levy. GRANTED. 7. County Clerk advising that County will pay 15% cost of education of Secondary School pupils at Markham. 8. gounty Clerk advising that 1949 County Levy will be $56,880.44. 9. Melville Grant of Grant and Grant, advising that he would act for the township in legal matters. MOVED by Mr. Burk and Seconded by Mr. Baladon that the Olerk be instructed to advise the Registrar of Deeds that we are prepare~ to pay approximately $~0.00 (Thirty Dollars) to have our By-law No. 1771 registered against every lot in the Township. CARRIED: Mr. J. Banigan, Chairman of the Planning Board, sat in on a general, discussion of the proposed enlarged Ajax Improvement Area. The Meeting, on motion, then adjourned. Certified~ Clerk.
