A ~speolal meeting of the Munioipai Council was held at Brougham on December 30, 1-948, all members present, the Reeve in the Chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on motion of Mr. ~alsdon, seconded by Mr. Burk, approved. T~e following ieorrespondenoe was read: (1) iMrs. H. A. ~arris asking that her taxes be reduced to ~sand onl$~as cottage Was washed away in 19A? by lake erosion. Cortes- (2) ~C. R. Puroe!l asking tkat bettersigns be posted at Con. 1 pondence lot 35 for no dumping. (3) ~Sheridan Equipment Co~, Ltd., stating that they may be able to deliver Allis-Chalmers Model H.D. ~ G Tractor with Shovel. (A) ~Brunner Mond Canada Sales Ltd., advise tha~ theyw will hold ~0 tens calcium at a price of $~4.08, Picketing. (§) ~County Clerk recommending that Sid. Pugh, Secretary of Game Committee be given an appointment as Commissioner for the taking of affidavits relating to fox bounties. T~e following persons on motion were heard: (1) V~. C. Wills~n, ~regarding sheep damage to flock of Hugh Miller Persons and cow damage to J. Davis. Heard (~) Nm. McEachnie requesting payment of burial account of George Handysides and ambulance for Mrs. Kellogg of Ajax. (3) George l~inshUll regarding drainage of his proposed subdivision of Squires' Beach west. Moved by Dr. ~cEwen, seconded by Mr. Balsdon thst the 1948 tax on Motions Harris house in Rouge Hills be remitted. Carried. Moved by .Mr. Disney, seconded by Mr. Burk that $10.00 be granted to Stouffville Horse Show. .Carried. ~ Moved b.y Dr. McEwen, seconded by Mr. Burk that funeral expenses of Geo. Handysides amounting to ~90.00, and ambulance for Mrs. Kellogg of AjaX,, $6.00, be paid. Carried. Moved ~y Dr. McEwen, seconded by DIr.
