Ail members present, the Reeve in the chair. The minutes were presented and on motion of Mr. Burk seconded by Dr..McEwen, approved. The following correspondence was rea~: 1. County Clerk re hospitalization of Mrs. Ursula Heltner, Claremont. Accepted. 2. County Clerk re hospitalization of Mrs. Ina Morley, Cherrywood. Cortes- Accepted. pondence 3. County Clerk re hospitalization of Mrs. Maude Chandler, Ctaremont. Accepted. 4. County Clerk re hospitalization of Patriola Batherson, of 42 Cedar St., Ajax. Accepted. 5. Coutty Clerk re hospitalization of Ma~el Huard, Dun~arton.~ Accept~ 6. County Clerk re hospitalization~of Doreen Laurie, 19 Elm St., Ajax. Accepted. 7. Refused 8, Board~of Transport Commission, re C.P.R. crossing Greenwood Road advising lights are the only safeguard which meets with their approval. 9. H. C. Commell complaining that Ridge Drive in Falrport Beach was not taken over ~y Township and he should not pay. 12. Herbert Pooley, White's Road, complaining of dust. 13. Ratepayers' Asso'n. presenting three letters from President. 4. J. Funston, of Cherrywood, asking permission to live in cellar of his new house. Permission granted providing ho'would (and did) sign an agreement that the outside of house would be complete4 by July l, 1949. 5. C.E. Morley, Secretary of Police Village of Pickerlng, asked that obsolescence for their,Village be increased above the 10% as is now given for assessment purposes. 6. Bud Norton, for our truck drivers, asking for 10S inorease per hour. 7. P~lice Chief Irvine presented his report for the month of September. Moved by Mr. Burk, seconded by Mr. Disney, that D. L. Malts be Motions instructed to equip two washrooms with a stool and basin each,~ together with pump, septiw tank and weepers, complete. Carried. Motion of Dr. McEwen to limit cost to$1200.00 dldPnot receive a seconde~. Moved by Mr. Balsdon, seconded by Mr. Disney that Council go to Paris to compare Adams maintainers Nos. 610 and 512. Moved by Dr. McEwen, seconded by Mr. Disney that Council cut weeds on Norman Gordon lot in Pickering Village. Carried. Moved by Dr. MoEwen, seconded by Mr. Disney that Clerk write Dept. of Highways re By-pass roads, connecting links and Rougemon~t Road. Carried. Moved by Dr. MeEwen, seconded by Mr. ~alsdonthat polling hours for-Muniaipal elections be ~hanged from 9 a.m. to ? p.m. to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Carried. ~ .Moved by Mr. Burk, seconded by Dr. McEwen that 1948 Voters' List be printed by Letter Shop Supply Company. Carried.. Moved by Dr. MoEwen, seconded by Mr. Burk that Police Chief see' that all taXi-cabs and pedlars have 1948 licenses. Carried. Moved by Dr. McEwen, seconded by Mr. Balsdon that the Court of Revision whereat all appeals against the 1949 AssessmeMt Buildinsa Roll will be heard, shall be held in the Municipal(BroUgham on November 3rd, 1~48, at 10 a.m. Carried.
