Clerk to get agreement for~ work that wo~d be done. Re: Clerk instructed to ask Pickeri~ and Claremont Contin~tion H. S, School Area Trustees to attend Council on Feb. 2nd and express Are~ wishes re High School Area. Clerk was authorized to emphatioally deny statements ~de in Press 'To~mto Daily ~tar and To~nto Evening Telegr~ relative to taxes ~- paid to the ~mlpality by the Do~nion Gove~ent, stati~ that merits that the M~eipallty ~s paid a l~p s~ equal to ~o~t which re would have been reoelve~ if the property had been assessed pti- Ajax ~ately, whereas we not o~y receive no taxes but are responsible for High School costs, indigent hospitalization, Tb. aftercare, children's Shelter costs, etc. Council de~ th~ this state- ment be retracted i~e~lately.
