A By-law to change the name of Brougham
Community Park to the /Donald A. Beer
Memorial Park/
WHEREAS under the authority of the Community Centres
Act, 1969, the Council of the Township of Pickering did by
By-law 2100, passed on the 29th day of June, 1955, establish
the Brougham Community Park;
AND `WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering
(1969) and the citizens of the Community of Brougham felt
that they would like to pay tribute to the late Donald A. Beer
for his outstanding contribution to recreation and community
affairs by renaming the Brougham Community Park to /The Donald
A. Beer Memorial Park/ ;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Brougham Community
Park be renamed /The Donald A. Beer Memorial Park/ and that
such change shall become effective on passing of this by-law.
By-law read a first, second and third time and PASSED in open
Council this Z,5- day of __(111444_1_, 1969•
