TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING GRAVEL PIT AND TOWNSHI P OF UXBRIDGE
RESTRICTED AREA~-LAW 15l7
PRESENT:
J. A. Taylor, Township Solici~or advises that the Township of
Uxbridge has passed another regulatory by-law which will affect
the operation of pits and quarries within its boundaries directly
affecting the operation of the Pickering Pit located within the
Township of Uxbridge.
Mr. Taylor is requesting direction as to whether he should pursue
to effect an amendment to the by-law to accommodate and protect
Pickering Township gravel operations in that municipality.

MOVED by Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Chatten,
that Mr. J. A. Taylor, Solicitor, be instructed to pursue
and protect the Township's position with respect to their
gravel pit operations in the Township of Uxbridge by opposing
the Restricted Area By-law 1517 as it now reads.

J. SHERMAN SCOTT WAT~~'J2REATMENT PLANT EXPANSION
The Clerk reported that the Ontario Municipal Board has given its
approval to the proposed expansion program of the J. Sherman Scott
Water Treatment Plant and requested authority of Council to permit
execution by the Reeve and Clerk of the contract in order that no
further delay would result in the commencement of work on this
project.

MOVED by Councillor V. Rudik, seconded by Councillor R. Chatten,
that in order that the expansion program for the J. Sherman
Scott water treatment plant can get underway without further
undue delay;
AND WHEREAS the Ontario Municipal Board has given its approval
to the projectj
AND WHEREAS the tenders have been called and opened in open
Council;
AND WHEREAS the tender of K. H. Preston Construction Ltd. has
been recommended to and accepted by Council;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Reeve and Clerk be and are
hereby authorized to execute the contract agreement between
~e Township and K. H. Preston Construction Ltd.
