COUNCIL MEETING
A meeting of the Township of Pickering
Council was held on MONDAY, the
TWELFTH day of November 1973 at 11.03 p.m.

~1) RESOLUTIONS
Resolution 290/73
MOVED by Deputy Reeve G. Ashe, seconded by
Councillor K. Matheson, that
WHEREAS the residents in the Brock Road, Concession ~
area have expressed concern over the apparent
presence of a destructive wild animal; and
WHEREAS they have asked the Municipality to take
whatever steps are possible to relieve the
hazard presented by this animal;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Picketing Rod and
Gun Club be authorized to organize a hunt on
Saturday, November 17th 1973 for the purpose
of locating anddestroying this destructive
wild animal;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for purposes of this hunt,
the Municipality recognizes that it may be
necessary to track this animal within the
restricted hunting area of the Municipality,
and Council hereby authorizes the Club to
proceed accordingly.

~VED by Deputy Reeve G. Ashe, seconded by Councillor
Mrs. J.L. McPherson that the tender of Aprile Contracting
Limited for road construction and storm sewer installation
on Rougemount Drive from Highway # 2 northerly 1,650 feet
in the amount of $70,354.50 be accepted, subject to the
approval of the Ministry of Transportation and
Communications.

BY-LAWS
By-Law Number 4453/73
Councillor K. Matheson, seconded by Councillor
D. Kitchen moves for leave to introduce a By-law
of the Township of Pickering to authorize the
execution of an Offer to Purchase dated the 5th day of
November 1973, between the Township of Pickering and
Ingersoll Casket Company Limited, and that same now
be read a first time°
Councillor K. Matheson, seconded by Councillor
B. Searle m~ves that By-law Number 4453/73 to
authorize the execution of an Offer to Purchase dated
the 5th day of November 1973, between the Township of
Pickering and Ingersoll Casket Company Limited be
now read a second time, and that Council go into
Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the
By-law as read.
Councillor K. ~atheson, seconded by Deputy Reeve
G. Ashe moves that the report of the Committee of the
Whole on By-law Number 4453/73 be adopted, and that
the said By-law be now read a Third Time and PASSED,
that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal
of The Corporation be affixed thereto.
