Fisher D. Kitchen K. Matheson A. Robertson N. Geraghty N.C. Marshall - Town Manager J.P. Myslik Deputy Clerk (I) OATH OF OFFICE Area Councillor - Ward 3 Mrs. Norah Geraghty took the oath of office as Area Councillor for Ward 3. (II) ADOPTION OF MINUTES Moved by Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Fisher that the minutes of the meeting of August 15th, 1977, be adopted. CARRIED (III) RESOLUTIONS Resolution #175/77 Moved by Councillor Fisher, seconded by Councillor Geraghty that the Greenwood Community Association be granted permission to hold a Beer Festival at the Greenwood Community Park on September 17th, 1977, subject to the approval of the L.L.B.O. CARRIED Reso1ution~ #176/77 Moved by Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson that the tender of Miller Paving Limited in the amount of $14,500.00 be accepted for the supply of emulsified asphalt slurry seal surface, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. CARRIED Resolution #177/77 Moved by Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Cahill that the Site Plan submitted by Shell Canada Limited with respect to their self-serve gas bar at the intersection of Bayly Street and Liverpool Road be deemed acceptable and that the appropriate building permit be issued. Recorded Vote: Yea - Messrs. Anderson, Kitchen, Matheson, Robertson, Fisher, Geraghty Nay - Messrs. Cahill CARRIED By-law Number 691/77 Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to amend By-law Number 266/75 limiting the number of automobile service stations and public garages,and that same now be read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally (IV) (V) 1. 2. (VI) - 122 - 22/77 BY-LAWS OTHER BUSINESS passed. Citizens recommended for Commemorative Medals The Mayor announced that the following citizens have been recommended by Council for the Commemorative Medals: Kathleen M. Hertzberg Jean L. McPherson James L. King Dr. N.F. Tomlinson Late Jack Dobbin It was noted that the next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6th, 1977. CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-law Nùmber 692/77 (VII) Dated Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the 29th day of August, 1977, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED a first, second and third time and finally By-law read ADJOURNMENT passed. Moved by Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Fisher that the meeting adjourn to Executive Committee at the hour of 7:45 P.M. CARRIED September 6th 1977
