HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 11, 1977 - 98 - 18/77 COUNCIL MEETING A meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on MONDAY, JULY 11th 1977 at 9:30 p.m. PRESENT: Councillor K. Councillors Matheson (Acting L. Cahill G. Fisher D. Kitchen A. Robertson Mayor) N.C. Marshall - J.P. Myslik Administrator-Clerk Deputy Clerk (I) RESOLUTIONS Resolution 138/77 Moved by Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Kitchen that the reports of the Town Buyer, dated July 7th 1977 and the Director of Recreation dated July 7th 1977 be adopted and that the tender of Super Fence Contractors Limited in the amount of $5,620.00 be acçepted. CARRIED Resolution 139/77 Moved by Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Robertson that the Dolphin Football Club be granted permission to hold a benefit ball game between the CHUM Radio AIl Stars and members of the Durham Regional Police at the Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park on August 13th 1977 and that they be given permission to utilize the concession booth for purposes of selling beer, soft drinks and food, subject to L.C.B.O. approval. CARRIED (II) BY-LAWS Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Robertson moved for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering: By-Law Number 655/77 To authorize the execution of an Agreement between the Town of Pickering and Pickering Panthers Junior Hockey Club covering the construction of an additional change- room at the Don Beer Sports Arena. By-Law Number 6s6LJ2- To authorize the execution of a Subdivision Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Elvin Construction Limited with respect to parts of Lots 79, 80, 81 and 84 and all of Lot 82 and part of Milton Road, Registered Plan 350. - 99 - 18/77 (II) BY-LAWS (Continued) By-Law Number 657/77 To dedicate certain lands as a public highway pursuant to Section 443 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. (Parts Block M, Plan M-l057) By-Law Number 6lli-72 To authorize the execution of an Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and John Morrison Lick1ey and Ruth Ann Lick1ey with respect to Lot 1000, Plan M-12, Town of Pickering (P CA 33/77) By~Law Number 659/77 To authorize the execution of an Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Joseph and Ingrid Verbancic with respect to the removal of a dwelling on part Lot 32, Concession 1, Town of Pickering. By-Law Number 660/77 To authorize the execution of an Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Silvio Tache11a with respect to Lots 89, 90 and 91, Plan 816 Town of Pickering (LD 107-108/76) The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-laws as read. THIRD READING Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Robertson moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 655/77 to 660/77 inclusive, be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED, that the Mayor and Administrator- Clerk sign the same, and that the Seal of the Corp- oration be affixed thereto. CARRIED By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (III) 1. OTHER BUSINESS Minutes - July 4th 1977 It was indicated that the Item #2 of Other Business on page 96 of the minutes of July 4th 1977 should read "Moved by Councillor Cahil1". (IV) CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-Law Number 661/77 Council10r Robertson, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the 11th day of July 1977, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed (V) - 100 - 18/77 ADJOURNMENT Dated Moved by Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Robertson that the meeting adjourn into Closed Session at the hour of 9:45 P.M.
