HomeMy WebLinkAboutSeptember 27, 1976 - 113 - 28/76 COUNCIL MEETING A meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH 1976 at 10:07 P.M. PRESENT: Mayor G. Ashe Councillors D. Kitchen K. Matheson B. Searle K. Spratley N.C. Marshall - J.P. Mys1ik Administrator-Clerk Deputy Clerk (I) RESOLUTIONS Resolution 152/76 Moved by Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Spratley that the week of October 3rd to October 9th 1976 be declared Fire Prevention Week in the Town of Pickering. CARRIED ResolutionE3/76 Moved by Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Matheson that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute an Offer to Purchase with Mr. and Mrs Ronald Store for a 10' road widening at the intersection of Glenanna Road and Glendale Drive. CARRIED (II) BY-LAWS By-Law Number 481/76 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Searle moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham in Part Lot 18, Concession 1, Town of Pickering - G. Gazarek, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. By-Law Number 482/76 Councillor Searle, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to authorize the execution of an Offer to Purchase between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Paul John Karch and Paul Toomsalu, Part of Part 3, of RD Plan 366, Range III, Town of Pickering and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. - 114 - 28/76 (III) OTHER BUSINESS a) Commercial Plazas - Krosno Boulevard - Old Orchard and Liverpool Road The question was raised whether there was a proposal of an amusement store or restaurant-tavern in this area. b) Local Government Course - Programme The Recreation Department in its newsletter offered a programme in Local Government. To date there have been few registrations. It was hoped that the news media would publicize this fact with the hope of having more people interested in this particular course.
