HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 26, 1976 - 84 - 20/76 COUNCIL MEET'ING A meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on MONDAY, the TWENTY SIXTH day of JULY 1976 at 10.13 p.m. PRESENT: Mayor G. Ashe Councillors J. Anderson D. Kitchen K. Matheson A. Robertson K. Spratley J.P. Mys1ik Deputy Clerk ALSO PRESENT: C.M.T. Sheffield - Town Solicitor (I) RESOLUTIONS Resolution 106/76 Moved by Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Anderson that the Mayor be authorized to declare Monday, August 2nd 1976 a Civic Holiday in the Town of Pickering. CARRIED In the discussion of this item it was agreed to eliminate the meeting of August 9th 1976. Resolution 107/76 Moved by Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Robertson that the Executive Committee Meeting of August 9th 1976 be dispensed with. CARRIED It was furthermore suggested that a by-law be passed by Council establishing the first Monday of August as a Civic Holiday until such time as the by-law would be repealed. This matter will be referred to the Town Solicitor. Resolution 108/76 Moved by Councillor Anderson, seconded by Councillor Matheson that the Town Solicitor not be authorized to appeal the decision of the Regional Land Division Committee Decision with respect to LD 297/76, K.S. Currey, Part Lot 27, Concession 2. CARRIED Resolution 109/76 Moved by Councillor Spratley, seconded by Councillor Anderson that the Council of the Town of Pickering is in agreement with the holding of a Greenwood Festival on September 18th 1976 and that there be a beer garden on this location. CARRIED - 85 - 20/76 (II) BY-LAWS By-law Number 446/76 Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Anderson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to authorize the execution of a Site Plan Agreement between the Corporation and Angelo Maltese and Giuseppina Maltese (LD 112/76, Part Lot 28, Concession 1) and that the same now be read a first, second and third time, and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. By-law Number 447/76 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Anderson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to authorize the execution of a Deed between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Charles Gordon Willson with respect to premises being Part Lot 31, Concession 4 in the Hamlet of Whitevale, Town of Pickering and that the same now be read a first, second and third time, and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (III) OTHER BUSINESS 1. It was indicated that the residents of Greenwood would like to hold a Greenwood Festival after History in Action. They would like to have a beer garden on this occasion. Confer Resolution 109/76. (IV) ADJOURNMENT Moved by Councillor Anderson, seconded by Councillor Robertson that the meeting adjourn at 10.32 p.m. to Closed Session of the Executive Committee. CARRIED c~~.
