Marshall (1) ADOPTION OF MINUTES MOVED by Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Spratley that the minutes of the meeting of December 16th 1974, be adopted. Aban. 27 16 8 17 27 16 6 5 18 8 8 17 5 3 10 15 2 2 118 2 $61.00 9 answered 49 9:p.m. $292.00 ( 111) RESOLUTIONS Resolution ~ MOVED by Councillor Spratley, seconded by Councillor Anderson that WHEREAS the PickerinV Museum will eventually have to be re-located and a new site will have to be chosen and¡ WHEREAS a master" plan will have to developed for the new site, and¡ - 2 - 1/75 (111) RESOLUTIONS (CONT . ) Resolution ~ continued WHEREAS these developments will require technical expertise beyond the capabilities of the Museum Board, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a Technical Advisory Committee made up of a Town Planner, a Historical Architect, a Specialist in Historical Furnishings and Furniture, a Specialist in Local History and Buildings, a Specialist in Museum Management, representatives from the provincial and Federal Government and representatives of the Museum Board be established to assist the Museum Board. CARRIED Resolution 2~ MOVED by Councillor Anderson, seconded by Councillor Searle that the following Department Head Reports for the month of December 1974 be adopted: Clerk's Department Planning Department Treasury Department By-Law Department Fire Department Public Works Department Legal Department Recreation & Transportation Department CARRIED Resolution 3/1' MOVED by Councillor Searle, seconded by Councillor Robertson that 1) By-law 128/74 is in conformity with the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering approved and in force at the time said By-law was passed, namely the 4th day of November 1974¡ No further Official Plan has been proposed by Council nor approved by the Ministry of Housing since the passing of said By-law 128/74 and which said By-law would not be in conformity, including the overall revision adopted by Council, lanuary 18th 1911 which is before the Minister. 2) CARRIED Resolution 4/75 MOVED by Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Anderson that the Corporation of the Tam of Pickering accepts the charges for the construction of sanitary sewers on Glendale Drive, Glenanna Road, Liverpool Road and Hillside Drive, as described in By-law N~r 170/74 of the Regional Municipality of Durham¡ AND FURTHER that the Corporation of the Town of Pickering endorses the method of financing said project as outlined in said By-law Number 170/74 of the Regional Municipality of Durham. . CARRIED - 3 - 1./7 'J (IV) BY-LAWS By-Law Number 146/75 Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Anderson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to appoint a Community Centres Board to manage and administer certain Community Centres and Athletic Fields within the Town of Pickering in conformity with the Community Centres Act and the Regulations made there- under, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. By-Law Number 147/75 Councillor Searle, seconded by Councillor Anderson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering for the collection of taxes for the year 1975, and that same be now read a first, second and third ~ and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. By-Law Number 148/75 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Anderson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to appoint a member to the Board ¡)f' irectors of the Ajax and Pickering General Hospital for the year 1975 (Mrs. Shirley Pyke) and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto ,ffixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second passed. and third time and finally ~Law Number 149/75 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Robertson moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to appoint Auditors for the Town of Pickering (Deloitte, Haskins and Sells) and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. BY-LAWS CONTINUED By-Law Number 150/75 Councillor Anderson, seconded by Councillor Spratley moves for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to appoint valuers of sheep and other livestock worried by dogs in the Town of Pickering (Mr. Robert Malcolm and Mr. Grant Carson), and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. By-Law Number 151/75 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Kitchen moves for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to appoint members to the Town of Pickering Committee of Adjustment, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the samed be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. By-Law Number 152/75 Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Kitchen moves for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to authorize the execution of an Easement Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and the Regional Municipality of Durham for the 401 Interceptor Sewer west of Sandy Beach Road and south of parkham Crescent, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that theMayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (V) 1. OTHER BUSINESS The Mayor informed Council of the Seminar for Councillors being offered on the first day of the Ontario Good Roads Convention, being held on February 24, 1975. 2. Mayor Ashe made reference to a letter from the Society of Directors of Recreation of Ontario and their offer to have a member present to assist in the presentation of a fellowship to Mr. Bass. 3. The Mayor brought to the attention of Council the recently published book by 1-1rs. Lillian Gauslin entitled "From Paths to Planes" which deals with the history of the Claremont area. - ~.. lJ~ OTHER BUSINESS (Continued) - RefiOh,tion 5/75 MOVED by Councillor Matheson, seconded hy Councillor Anderson that the Council of theCorpc~ation of the Town of Pickering pursuant to the provisions of the Regional Municipality of Durham Act, 1973, hereby requests the Council of The Regional Municipality of Durham ~o issue Debentures of the Regional Corporation in the reøpac~iv8 principal amounts and repayable within the respecti~ terms of years as shown on the attached.
