This Special Council Meeting was called to consider a resolution
which would permit United Co-operatives in Claremont to operate its
corn dryer for extended hours.

RESOLUTIONS
Resolution 145/79
That pursuant to the provisions of Section 6 (b) of By-law 3821/70,
as amended, the operation by United Co-operatives of Ontario of a
corn drying facility composed of one corn dryer located in Lot 18,
Concession 9, on the south side of Hoxton Street in the Hamlet of
Claremont, is hereby declared an emergency for the purposes of Section
6 (a), thereof, but the rel jef granted under this resolution shall not
extend beyond December 15, 1979, nor will the corn drying facility be
operated between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any day, with
the exception of 21 days of the corn harvest season during which the
corn dryer facility may operate 24 hours a day.

cellaneous accounts receivable be received;
and that the nine accounts receivable listed
in the said report be written off in the amount
of $1,333.39, said sum to be charged to Account
G/L #1599.

Whereas Section 636a of the Municipal Act as
enact~d by Statutes of Ontario, 1973, c.124,
transfers the responsibility for the hearing
of the applications for cancellation, reduction
or refund of taxes to the Council of the Municipal-
ity;

AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications
have been received by the Clerk of the Municipality
for the cancellation, reduction and refund of
taxes for various reasons;

AND WHEREAS upon investigation and receipt of
reasonable explanations all claims have been
substantiated;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of
the Town of Pickering accept the following list
of applications and authorize the adjustment
of taxes in the amount of $9,226.30.

submitted by the Town Manager, be approved.

Hockey Club, to hold a charity hockey game
on behalf of the Holley family on Friday, Nov-
ember 16, 1979 at Don Beer Arena be approved;
and that the rental fee of $100.00 for the
community hall be charged to GL Account 2195
(Grants to Organizations and Individuals).
