Anderson, Cahill, Matheson Councillors Dickerson and Geraghty (III) BY-LAWS Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering: By-law Numþer 983/79 Being a by-law to repeal By-law 2151 providing for the inclusion of poultry under The Livestock Protection Act, R.S.O. 1950, chapter 107. By~law Number 984/79 Being a by-law to authorize the execution of a Site Plan Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and Ronald Morris Lewis and Marilyn Joan Lewis with respect to Lots 2 and 9, Plan 230, Pickering. By-law Number 985/79 Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 266/75 limiting the number of service stations and public garages. By-law Number 986/79 Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area By-law 2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Part Lot 20, Range 3, Broken Front Concession, in the Town of Pickering. THIRD READING Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Matheson moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 983/79, 984/79, 985/79 and 986/79 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED - 58 - 11/79 By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (IV) OTHER BUSINESS 1. Councillor Cahill stated that Mr. Bruce Handscomb, President of the West Shore Ratepayers Association was taken to hospital today. 2. Councillor Kitchen stated that incorrect informa- tion about public services was being circulated by private firms and asked if the Town could embark on a method to circulate proper information. 3. Mayor Anderson announced the following schedule for summer meetings: Tuesday, July 3,1979 Monday, July 30, 1979 Meeting of June 4,1979 is cancelled. (V) CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-law Number 987/79 Councillor Matheson, seconded by Councillor Cahill moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the 7th day of May, 1979, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (VI) ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at the hour of 8:07 P.M. APPLICATION FOR REZONING BY SHELL CANADA LIMITED (KERZNER) ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF BROCK ROAD AND BAYLY STREET FILE NUMBER - B 2310 - A18/78 That by-law 941/79 is in conformity with the Official Plan of the Region of Durham and in force at the time this. by-law was passed, namely the 22nd day of January 1979; And that no further official plan has been proposed by Council nor approved by the Ministry of Housing since passing of said by-law 941/79 in which the said by-law would not be in conformity. 3. APPLICATION FOR REZONING BY BRAMALEA LTD. AND JACK JACOBSEN CONSTRUCTION LIMITED ON ASPEN ROAD FILE NUMBER - B2310 - A2/78, A3/78 and A13/77 That by-law 942/79 is in conformity with the Official Plan of the Region of Durham and enforced at the time this by-law was passed, namely the 22nd day of January 1979: -1 And that no further official plan has been proposed by Council nor approved by the Ministry of Housing since passing of said by-law 942/79 in which the said by-law would not be in conformity. That the Association of Condominium Owners in Ward 3 be advised that the Municipality is not prepared to extend twice weekly garbage collection to their units and that the alternatives suggested in the Director of Public Works' report of February 12th 1979 be forwarded to them for their consider- ation. TAX WRITE-OFFS FILE NUMBER - C 5380 Whereas Section 636a of the Municipal Act as enacted by Statutes of Ontario, 1973, c.124, transfers the responsibility for the hearing of the applications for cancellation, reduction or refund of taxes to the Council of the Municipal- ity; AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications have been received by the Clerk of the Municipality for the cancellation, reduction and refund of taxes for various reasons; AND WHEREAS upon investigation and receipt of reasonable explanations all claims have been substantiated; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of Pickering accept the following list of applications and authorize the adjustment of taxes in the amount of $155.20.
