SPECIAL COUNCIL NEETING
A Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on
Monday, January 28, 1980 at 8:20 P.M.
PRESENT:
Nayor J. E. Anderson
COUNCILLORS:
L Cahill
D. Dickerson
G. Fisher
D. Kitchen
K. Matheson
N. Stoner
ALSO PRESENT:
N. C. Narshall
Bruce Taylor
Town Manager
Town Clerk
Pursuant to Section 2010.4 of The Town of Pickering Municipal
Code, a Special Meeting of Council was called to enact
a by-law to fix installment dates, penalty amounts and
interest rates respecting the payment and collection of
taxes.

RESOLUTIONS
Resolution 8/80
Moved by Councillor Stoner
Seconded by Councillor Kitchen
That the Town of Pickering request the Environmental Assess-
ment Board on January 31, 1980 for status as an interested
party in future hearings of the Board;
and that the Board be requested to postpone any further
hearings until March 11, 1980.

BY-LAWS
Councillor Dickerson, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved
for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:
By-law Number C-5
Being a by-law to amend The Town of Pickring Municipal
Code to fix installment dates, penalty amounts and interest
rates respecting the payment and collection of taxes.
THIRD READING
Councillor Dickerson, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Number C-5 be adopted, with the following amendment:
That Sections 2210.3
penalty of 1 1/2% on

CONFIRMATION BY-LAW
By-law Number 1088/80
Councillor Dickerson, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved
for lea~e to introduce.a By-law of the Town of Pickering
to conf~rm the proceed~ngs of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the January
28, 1980, and that same be now read a first second and
third time and that the same be now finally'passed and
that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.
