(Commercial) 16/82 - 64 - THIRD.READING Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 1489/82, 1490/82, 1491/82, 1492/82, 1493/82 and 1494/82 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. OTHER.BUSINESS Councillor Stoner reported that she has received a number of complaints about people holding a number of garage sales at their homes and selling new items and asked that staff investigate this problem with a view to regulating garage sales. 2. The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting: a) A request from the Blue Dolphin's Swim Club to conduct a flea market on May 30,1982. Resolution #49/82 Moved by Councillor Cahill Seconded by Councillor Stoner That the request of the Pickering Blue Dolphins Swim Club to be exempt from the terms of By-law 1073/79 (Business Licensing) in order to conduct a flea market on May 30,1982 with a rain date of June 6, 1982 at Stroud's Food Market be approved. CARRIED b) Council considered a letter from Mrs. Brenda Davies regarding a ditching problem on her property on the southwest corner of Concession 3 Road and Rosebank Road North and Council directed that if feasible the ditch on the west side of Rosebank Road North be cleaned and sodded. c) A Planning Committee Meeting was called for Tuesday, June 15, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. to con- sider the Frenchman's Bay Study. 16/82 - 65 - d) Council was advised that the creative fort in Greenwood Park is to be removed due to vandalism. e) A second legal opinion indicated that Council was within its rights to accept the second lowest bidder for the tender on the Recreation Complex. f) Changes to the bus routes were discussed. Resolution.#50/82 Moved by Councillor Cahill Seconded by Councillor Byers That the recommendations outlined in the report of the Director of Transportation dated May 10, 1982, be adopted. CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-law Number-1495/82 Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Fisher moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on May 17, 1982, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. CARRIED By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed.
