HomeMy WebLinkAboutFebruary 1, 1982 (Special) 4/82 - 12 - SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was called on Monday, February 1, 1982 pursuant to Section 60 of By-law 1064/79 as amended in order for Mr. Clinton Belbin to show cause why he believes his taxicab driver's licence should not be revoked. PRESENT: Mayor J. Anderson COUNCILLORS: Byers Cahill Coburn Fisher Robertson Stoner ALSO PRESENT: Mr. N.C. Marshall - Town Manager Mr. T. Sheffield - Town Solicitor Mr. B. Taylor - Town Clerk The Town Clerk reviewed the history of Mr. Belbin's appli- cation of a taxicab driver's licence and the subsequent revocation of the said licence. Detective Denson reviewed previous convictions against Mr. Belbin and the reason for the Police's recommendation to refuse the issuance of this licence. Mr. Clinton Belbin stated that his taxicab driver's licence should be returned to him because he was charged with crim- inal offenses as late as 1979 but has not been in any trouble since. (1) RESOLUTIONS Resolution #6/82 Moved by Councillor Robertson Seconded by Councillor Fisher That Taxicab Driver's Licence #54 be re-issued to Mr. Clinton Belbin.
