HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch 24, 1986 (Special) 7/86 COUNCIL MINUTES A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town was on Council held Monday, March 24, 1986 at 10:28 P.M. Pursuant to By-law 3714 (Procedural By-law), this Special Meeting was called to consider the request of Mr. and Mrs. D. Evans of Claremont to receive compensation from the Ministry of the Environment with respect to the Claremont Private Water Systems Study. PRESENT: Mayor J.E. Anderson COUNCILLORS: W. Arthurs M. Brenner S. Coburn B. Mitchell A. Robertson N. Stoner ALSO PRESENT: N.C. Marshall - Town Manager B. Taylor - Town Clerk K. McKay - Deputy Clerk (I) RESOLUTION Resolution #39/86 MOved by Councillor Stoner Seconded by Councillor Arthurs Whereas the well of owned Dean and Carolyn Evans, 5011 property by Barclay Street, Claremont, supplied water that was unsafe to drink prior to the implementation of the Hamlet of Claremont Private Water Systems Study; and Whereas Mr. and Mrs. Evans installed a new well to correct this problem prior to the implementation of the programme; and Whereas Mr. and Mrs. Evans felt compelled to install this new well in 1984 prior to the implementation of the Private Water Systems Study in order to correct this serious situation; Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby requests The Honourable James Bradley, Minister of the Environment, to approve the request of Dean and Carolyn Evans for compensation under the Hamlet of Claremont Private Water Systems Study. 7/86 (II) ADJOURNMENT The Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
