Brenner D. Farr R. Johnson E. Pistritto S. Senis ALSO PRESENT: C.M.T. Sheffield - Town Manager B. Taylor - Town Clerk N. Carroll - Director of Planning D. Kearns - Co-ordinator of Council Services 0 ABSENT: D. Ryan - (Municipal Business) (I) RESOLUTIONS Resolution #48/95 Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Councillor Brenner That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.45, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting closed to the public for the purpose of considering property and personnel items, affecting the municipality. CARRIED 00 52 Resolution #49/95 Moved by Councillor Pistritto Seconded by Councillor Senis That the proposal from Port Pickering Marina Ltd. dated March 31, 1995, pursuant to which the marina and marina property located at 680 Front Road are offered for sale to the Town for the sum of $2.5 million, be refused; and That the Town be authorized to enter into discussions with Port Pickering Marina Ltd. pursuant to which the marina property located at 680 Front Road may be offered for sale to the Town under different terms and conditions: and That the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and the Province be advised of our interest in this matter. CARRIED Council considered the following motions in conjunction with the above resolution: Resolution #50/95 Moved by Councillor Brenner Seconded by Councillor Farr That the above resolution be amended by replacing the words "Mayor and the Town Manager, or either of them" with the word "Town". CARRIED Resolution #51/95 Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Councillor Brenner That the above resolution be amended by adding "and that the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and the Province be advised of our interest in this matter". CARRIED 53 (II) OTHER BUSINESS The Town Manager distributed a confidential memo concerning the Solicitor hiring process. 0 2. Mayor Arthurs advised that a car allowance is being requested by the Executive Director of Operations. The Town Manager will prepare a report.
