Brenner D. Dickerson R. Johnson E. Pistritto D. Ryan S. Senis ALSO PRESENT: T. Quinn E. Buntsma N. Carroll R. Reynolds B. Taylor P. Wyger - General Manager - Director of Parks and Facilities - Director of Planning - Director of Culture and Recreation - Town Clerk - Town Solicitor 1. The General Manager reported that the CBC wants to conduct an interview with the Fire Chief respecting the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The General Manager reported that he met with Mr. e. deGraauw respecting his outstanding business taxes and was directed to continue discussions to set up a payment schedule. 2. The General Manager distributed a memo dated October 10, 1997 providing a status report on the partnership initiatives and service co-ordination between the Towns of Pickering and Ajax. 3. 4. The General Manager distributed a memo dated October 14, 1997 ITom the Director of Public Works respecting the Dunbarton Road reconstruction project. ,. - e 8 2 (I) AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #409/97 Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Councillor Pistritto That pursuant to Section 55(7) ofthe Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c M.45, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider personnel and litigation matters. CARRIED Resolution #410/97 Moved by Councillor Brenner Seconded by Councillor Johnson That the payment of the two invoices set out in the Confidential Report of the Director of Human Resources HR 10/97 be approved. CARRIED 1. The Town Solicitor reported that there is insufficient insurance coverage at the Claremont Community Centre by the Claremont Lions Club and the General Manager is addressing this issue. 2. The Town Solicitor reported on potential litigation by AES Prodata regarding RFP 7/97. 3. The Town Solicitor reported on the status of the Novacor litigation. 4. The Town Solicitor asked Council to approve the enforcement procedures set out in the Confidential Memo of the Director of Planning dated October 10, 1997 regarding parking for physically challenged persons. Council did approve these procedures. 5. The Town Solicitor reported on material she received regarding the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and was directed to send this material to the Special Legislative Committee by registered mail.
