A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Tuesday, August 5, 1997
at 7:00 p.m.

AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA
Resolution #304/97

That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a matter oflitigation and personnel.

1.
That the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority be requested
to appoint the Municipal Law Enforcement Officers of the Town of Pickering as
enforcement officers for the purpose of enforcing regulations made by the
MTRCA pursuant to Sections 28 and 29 of the Conservation Authorities Act on
condition that the Minister of Natural Resources appoints these Municipal Law
Enforcement Officers as Provincial Offence Officers.
2.
That the Town Clerk be authorized to retain a third Municipal Law Enforcement
Officer on condition that the agreement of CUPE Local 129 is reached on having
such Officer work during off hours; and
3.
That staff be authorized to work with CUPE 129 to effect the transfer of one
employee from the former survey crew within the Department of Public Works to
the position of Parking Control Officer.
4.
That the staff complement in the Municipal Law Enforcement Department be
increased by two.
