Brenner D. Dickerson R. Johnson E. Pistritto D. Ryan S. Senis ALSO PRESENT: T. Quinn B. Taylor P. Wyger N. Carroll 1. Alftey D. Kearns (D - General Manager - Town Clerk - Town Solicitor - Director of Planning - Co-ordinator of Economic Development - Co-ordinator of Council Services AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #120/97 Moved by Councillor Ryan Seconded by Councillor Johnson That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS,O. 1990, c M.45, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider a litigation matter. CARRIED ,r Resolution #121/97 Moved by Councillor Brenner Seconded by Councillor Johnson That the recommendation set out in Legal Services Report L 61/97 be adopted. 8 CARRIED The Town Solicitor stated that she was ready to report on the sale of Sideline 14 in Concession 7 and the purchase of lands at the southeast corner of Fairport Road and Bonita Avenue if Council so desired. The Town Solicitor distributed a report from Frank Cowan Company Limited commenting on the risk management involved in the proposed youth park. The Town Solicitor reported that two Ontario Municipal Board hearings are scheduled for the near future involving the Ontario Land Corporation and Woodsmere Properties. She also reported on a recent decision of the Ontario Municipal Board regarding a Committee of Adjustment decision. The Town Solicitor reported that the principles of Eastern Power Developers are not willing to sign a Site Plan Agreement which is required for that company to get a Building Permit for a minor expansion to their present building. Resolution #122/97 8 Moved by Councillor Dickerson Seconded by Councillor Johnson That staffbe directed to refuse to rent any Town facility to Arthur Cross or any other representative of Eastern Power Developers where the rental would be for the purpose of promoting its proposed Blue Box Recycling operation. LOST Recorded Vote: Yes: No: Councillor Brenner, Dickerson and Johnson Councillors Pistritto, Ryan, Senis and Mayor Arthurs The Town Solicitor reported that she was made aware of a piece ofland for sale at the northeast corner of Liverpool Road and Commerce Street. Members of Council indicated that they were not interested in acquiring this parcel.
