SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Monday, February 23,
1998 at 7:05 p.m.

Seconded by Councillor Holland
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a matter of litigation.

That the Council of the Town of Pickering authorizes Kronis, Rotsztain, Margles, Cappel
and Gertler to:

negotiate with Revenue Canada for the purposes of settling the issue as to
the entitlement to the $50,000 held in trust by the firm of Pitzitelli &
Associates, provided that the Town receive not less than one-half of the
$50,000 and thereafter,
(b)
subject to the consent of the Town's Insurers, take all necessary steps to
abandon the Town's claim against Novacor without costs and to ensure
that the Trustees in Bankruptcy for Novacor dismisses the counterclaim
against the Town without costs.
