Brenner D. Dickerson M. Holland R Johnson D. Pickles D. Ryan ALSO PRESENT: T. J. Quinn B. Taylor E. Buntsma T. Melymuk D. Kearns - Chief Administrative Officer - Town Clerk - Director of Operations and Emergency Services - Division Head, Corporation Projects & Policy - Committee Coordinator (I) AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #209 Moved by Councillor Holland Seconded by Councillor Pickles That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MAS, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider a personnel matter. CARRIED The Chief Administrative Officer provided a verbal report on the status of two grievances submitted by the Pickering Professional Firefighters' Association and one grievance submitted by an employee who retired in 1996. Councillor Ryan indicated that he wished to question the validity of the Minutes of the Special Council Meeting on November 8, 1999 and Mayor Arthurs and the Chief Administrative Officer declared an interest in this issue as follows: Mayor Arthurs declared an interest in the following item because a member of his family may be offered employment by one of the bidding companies and he then left the Committee Room - ~ . 8 8 ~ - 2 - The Chief Administrative Officer declared an interest in the following item and left the room. Councillor Ryan questioned the validity of the Special Council Meeting of November 8, 1999 because this meeting was not chaired by the Acting Mayor. Resolution #210 Moved by Councillor Ryan Seconded by Councillor Brenner That the validity of the Special Council Meeting of November 8, 1999 is hereby challenged. LOST The Town Clerk was given direction to seek clarification on who may Chair a Special Council Meeting. Councillor Ryan stated that he is concerned about the Town's procurement policies and how they are interpreted.
