SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Monday, March 8, 1999 at
6:50 p.m.

AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA
Resolution #44/99
Moved by Councillor Brenner
Seconded by Councillor Ryan
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MAS, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a personnel matter.

That Report CAO 1/99, the attachments to that Report and the Memorandum dated

That the functional realignment of the administration, as set out in the Memorandum of
the Chief Administrative Officer dated March 4, 1999, is hereby supported by Council.

That the contract with Ms. Jane Burton, Solicitor, be extended as set out in the
Memorandum of the Chief Administrative Officer dated March 4, 1999; and
That a Request For Proposals for contracted legal services be called as previously
directed.

That the position of Director of Corporate Projects and Policy be established as set out in
Report CAO 1/99.

The Solicitor gave an overview of Legal Services Report Ll1/99 regarding the Ontario
Municipal Board Hearing scheduled for June 22, 1999 to deal with various matters
affecting lands designated Regional Node 2 in the Pickering Official Plan.

The Chief Administrative Officer Reported that the application to the Federal Government
to retain four persons for a 52 week period to assist with the Millennium events was
approved.
