SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

A Special Meeting of the Pickering Town Council was held on Monday, January 24th,
2000 at 7:30 p.m.

AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA
Resolution #06/00
Moved by Councillor Johnson
Seconded by Councillor Dickerson
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a personnel matter and a matter deemed exempt under the Municipal
Freedom ofInformation Act.
CARRIED
1.
Councillor Johnson requested Council's direction on a letter he received ITom a
resident regarding a taxation inquiry. It was the consensus of Council that this
issue be referred to the Police Services Board.
2.
Councillor Dickerson reported that a quotation was sought for the installation of
carpet in the Civic Complex and that the quotation process contained irregularities
that he is investigating. Councillor Brenner also reported on a purchasing
irregularity.
