SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Pickering City Council was held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2000
at 6:30 p.m.

AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA

That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended,
the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a
meeting to consider a financial matter and a personnel matter.

1. That approval be granted to initiate Phase 2 of the Joint Fire Communications Centre
project, at a cost of $10,914, inclusive of all applicable taxes, which includes the
development of detailed technical specifications for the expansion of Oshawa's
existing 800 MHz voice radio system; and

2. That the costs associated with Phase 2 of this project be shared equally between Ajax,
Clarington, Pickering and Whitby ($2,728.50 each).

3. That Council concurred with the Chief Administrative Officer that the City of
Pickering would propose to be the secondary dispatch (western anchor) for Fire
Dispatch in the Region of Durham.
