Brenner - Chair M. Holland R. Johnson B. McLean D. Pickles D. Ryan ALSO PRESENT: T.J. Quinn B. Taylor N. Carroll G. Paterson - Chief Administrative Officer - City Clerk - Director, Planning & Development - Director, Corporate Services & Treasurer - (I) AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #157/00 Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Councillor Ryan That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider a land acquisition matter and a financial matter. CARRIED Resolution #158/00 Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Mayor Arthurs , , That the request of Mr. John Moniz of the Rotary Club of Pickering dated December 1, 2000 to waive the hall rental fee of the East and West Salons at the Pickering Recreation Complex on Saturday, February 17, 2001 in support of a proposed Women's Shelter be received; and II' --2-- That a grant in the amount of$I,104.83 be made to the Rotary Club of Pickering to offset the said hall rental fee for the February 1 ih, 2001 fundraising event; and That this grant be charged to Account 2195 (Grant to Organizations and Individuals) as a 2001 expenditure. Resolution #159/00 Moved by Councillor Holland Seconded by Mayor Arthurs That the Confidential Memorandum dated December 5, 2000 concerrung property acquisition be received; and That City staff be directed to acquire an appraisal of the site and a general environmental review and report back to Council upon receipt of same with an appropriate strategy for acquisition. REFERRED TO THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER Council considered the following resolution in conjunction with the above: Resolution #159/00(a) - Moved by Councillor Johnson Seconded by Mayor Arthurs That the Confidential Memorandum dated December 5, 2000 concerning a property acquisition be referred to the Chief Administrative Officer to; 1. Discuss the acquisition further with the owners of the property. 2. Determine the priority ofthe TRCA in support ofthe acquisition of the property. 3. Determine what Provincial funding is available for the acquisition of the property. CARRIED Resolution #160/00 Moved by Councillor Holland Seconded by Councillor Pickles That Council rise from this In Camera session at 7:19 p.m. CARRIED j .... --3-- Members of Council concurred with a recommendation of the Chief Administrative Officer to transfer two fire vehicles to Ontario Power Generation in exchange for a minimum of$1,500 for each vehicle and free training at O.P.G.'s Wesleyville site.
