The Inaugural Meeting of Council was called to order by the Mayor.

OATH OF OFFICE OF MAYOR AND PRESENTATION OF CHAIN OF OFFICE
The Oath of Office was administered by the Honourable Mr. Justice David M.
Stone and the Chain of Office was presented to the Mayor by his daughter Tara.

The Oaths of Office for Councillors was given by the Honourable Mr. Justice
David M. Stone.

INVOCATION
The Invocation was given by Mr. Peter Wood, St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church.
(V) INTRODUCTION OF MEMBERS OF COUNCIL
Mayor Arthurs introduced Members of Council.

Mayor Arthurs presented his Inaugural Address.
(VIII) CONFIRMATION BY-LAW
By-law Number 5779/00
Councillor Johnson seconded by Councillor Brenner moved for leave to introduce a By-
law of the City of Pickering to confinn those proceedings of the Council of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering at its meeting held on the 5th day of December,
2000 and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same
and that the Seal ofthe Corporation be thereto affixed.
