PRESENT: Mayor Wayne Arthurs COUNCILLORS: M. Brenner M. Holland R. Johnson B. McLean D. Pickles D. Ryan ALSO PRESENT: T.J. Quinn E. Buntsma N. Carroll G. Paterson B. Taylor D. Kearns - Chief Administrative Officer - Director, Operations & Emergency Services - Director, Planning & Development - Director, Corporate Services & Treasurer - City Clerk - Committee Coordinator - (I) AUTHORITY TO MEET IN CAMERA Resolution #33/01 Moved by Councillor Ryan Seconded by Councillor McLean That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a meeting to consider a personnel and property matter. CARRIED Resolution #34/01 Moved by Councillor Pickles Seconded by Councillor Ryan 1. That Council accept the terms and conditions outlined in the Memorandum of Settlement dated March 9th, 2001 between The Corporation of the City of Pickering and Pickering Professional Firefighters' Association respecting a Collective Agreement having a four year term commencing January 1, 2000 and ending - December 31, 2003. --2-- 2. That Report HR-02-01 be received and that Council authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the new 2000/2003 Collective Agreement (between The Corporation of the City of Pickering and Pickering Professional Firefighters' Association) having a four year term commencing January 1, 2000 and ending December 31, 2003. Recorded Vote: Yes: Councillors Brenner, Holland, Johnson, McLean, Pickles, Ryan and Mayor Arthurs That Councillor Pickles, seconded by Councillor Ryan, took leave to introduce by-laws ofthe City of Pickering: By-law Number 5818/01 Being a by-law to ratify the terms of a Memorandum of Settlement dated March 9, 2001 between The Corporation of the City of Pickering and Pickering Professional Firefighters' Association respecting a Collective Agreement for 2000/2003 and to authorize the execution of that Collective Agreement. CARRIED THIRD READING: - Councillor Pickles, seconded by Councillor Ryan, moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Number 5818/01 be adopted and the said by-law be now read a third time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and the seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. Resolution #35/01 Moved by Councillor Ryan Seconded by Councillor Holland That the Confidential Memorandum of the Chief Administrative Officer dated March 7th, 2001 regarding the donation of a house and property to the City of Pickering to assist in the establishment ofa Women's Shelter be received.
