Resolution #142/01
Moved by Councillor Ryan
Seconded by Councillor Holland
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c MA5, as amended, the Council of
the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a closed meeting to consider a matter
involving litigation.
CARRIED
Councillor Johnson declared an interest in the subject matter to be discussed at this meeting
because Council is considering a report of the Solicitor for the City respecting his actions in
regards to the Uxbridge/Pickering Townline and Sideline 8. Councillor Johnson left the room and
did not return to the Meeting.

That Virginia MacLean, Q.C., Solicitor for Councillor Johnson, be heard.
CARRIED
Virginia MacLean provided Members of Council with a brief overview of her client's case and left the
room for the balance of the meeting.

John Reble, Solicitor for the City, provided an overview of his "Report to Council on Matters Relating to
Rick Johnson and the UxbridgelPickering Townline and Sideline 8" dated October 31, 2001. It was the
consensus of the Members of Council to defer making any decision on this matter for two weeks.
