RESOLUTIONS
Resolution #18/02

Moved by Councillor Ryan
Seconded by Councillor Pickles
That pursuant to Section 55(7) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c MAS, as amended, the
Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a closed meeting
to discuss an appointment.

Moved by Councillor Pickles
Seconded by Councillor Johnson
1. That Clerks Report CL 02-02 regarding the membership selection for the GTAA Pickering
Advisory Committee be received; and
2. That the Council of the City of Pickering, in addition to the Mayor, nominates City
Councillor David Pickles for appointment to the GT AA Pickering Advisory Committee; and

3. That the Council of the City of Pickering nominates, for appointment to the GTAA Pickering
Advisory Committee, the following persons
Steven Fredericks
Lloyd Thomas
Joan Moritsque
Kurrie Storey
Gail Wideman
4. That the Council of the City of Pickering reaffirms its support and seeks the reaffirmation of
Transport Canada and the commitment of the GTAA that the Stakeholders Forum continues

to serve a primary role in the consultation processes, including the GT AA consultations, on
the matter of the federal lands as they pertain to any proposal for an airport; and

5. That the Council of the City of Pickering reaffirms its commitment to the reaching of an
agreement with Transport Canada and requests that Transport Canada commit to concluding
such an agreement as soon possible; and
6. That this motion be copied to The Honourable David Collennette, Dan McTeague, M.P.,
Transport Canada and the GTAA.

Council considered the following motion in conjunction with the above resolution:

That the above resolution be amended in Item #2 by maintaining Councillor Pickles as a
representative and amending #3 by replacing the specific nominations with "the appointment of
four additional local residents through the usual appointment process."
