By-law No. 7419/15
Being a by-law to appoint persons as Lottery
Licensing Officers, for The Corporation of the
City of Pickering.
Whereas Order-In-Council 2688/93 of the Government of Ontario states that a
municipal council may, where it deems to be in the best interests of the inhabitants of
the municipality, issue a license_authorizing an eligible charitable organization to
conduct and manage lottery schemes; and
Whereas it is deemed expedient to delegate this authority to various staff of The
Corporation of the City of Pickering to act as Lottery Licensing Officers;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as
follows:
1. That Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby delegates its
authority to the following staff to issue a licence authorizing an eligible charitable
organization to conduct and manage lottery schemes in accordance with
applicable Provincial legislation:;
a. Debbie Shields, City Clerk
b. Lisa Harker, Deputy Clerk
c. Laura Cowie, Clerk, Administration, Vital Stats & Lottery Licensing
d. Shelley Green, Clerk, Administration, Business Licensing
2. For the purpose of issuing a licence for a lottery scheme, the persons set out in
Section 1 of this By-law shall be known as Lottery Licensing Officers..
3. That By-law No. 6607/05 be hereby repealed.
