HomeMy WebLinkAboutApril 15, 1999 STATUTORY PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING MINUTES A Statutory Public Information Meeting was held on Thursday, April 15, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. PRESENT: L. Taylor -Manager, Current Operations Division V. Rodrigues - Senior Planner J. Cole -Planner 2 D. Kearns - Committee Co-ordinator The Manager, Current Operations Division, provided an overview of the requirements of the Planning Act and the Ontario Municipal Board respecting this meeting and matters under consideration thereat. (I) ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT APPLICATION A 2/99 ONTARIO REALTY CORPORATION (WHITEVALE GOLF CLUB) NORTH PART OF LOTS 329 AND 30, CONCESSION 4 (EAST SIDE OF GOLF CLUB RD, SOUTH OF THE 5TH CONCESSION RD. 1. Valerie Rodrigues, Senior Planner provided an explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report# 5/99. 2. Richard Ward, 3709 Regional Road, Orono, stated that he had no difficulties with the application but felt the lease should be offered on the open market. He stated his opposition to residential designation, sale of additional lands and road reconstruction. (II) ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT APPLICATION A 5/99. DANLU HOLDINGS LIMITED PART OF LOT 32, CONCESSION 1 (EAST SIDE OF ALTONA ROAD, SOUTH OF FINCH AVENUE 1. Valerie Rodrigues, Senior Planner provided an explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report# 6/99. 2. Grant Morris, representing the applicant, advised that a meeting had been held and questions were answered. He stated his agreement with staff's report. 3. Jim Morrison, 18.03 Woodview Ave., wanted to ensure that this development would not have an adverse affect on traffic in his area. (HI) DRAFT PLAN OF SUBDIVISION 18T-98007(R) ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT APPLICATION A 12/98(R) F. & G. MOLINARO PART OF LOTS 4 & 5, PLAN 282 (BETWEEN WOODVIEW AND PINE GROVE AVENUES, SOUTH OF ROCKWOOD DRIVE 1. Jeff Cole, Planner 2 provided an explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report# 7/99. 2 2. Jim Morrison, 1803 Woodview Ave., questioned what the Planning Department are doing to re-route traffic from the area. • Traffic problems are already an issue and safety is a concern. He suggested that Street `A' could be linked to Rockwood Dr. and not exit onto Woodview Ave. 3. Jim Rowntree, 1820 Woodview Ave., stated that the size of lots was a concern but have been addressed. He advised that his neighbour has a problem with water running onto his property from the land in question and asked if grading would rectify this situation. He also stated his concern with traffic and asked if the linkage could be made to Rockwood Dr. 4. Mike Caruso, 1805 Woodview Ave., questioned who the owners are of the property which would link Street `A' to Rockwood Dr. and what the timing would be for filing an appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board. 5. Jim Morrison, 1803 Woodview Ave., asked if Street `A' has been approved by the Planning Department and if a future meeting would be held with residents prior to this application going before Council for approval. 6. Jim McLean, 1801 Woodview Ave., stated his opposition to Street `A' linking to Woodview Ave. and suggested that the best connection would be Waterford Gate. He stated his concern with the amount of traffic presently and what will be created. He advised that residents already run the 3-way stop which factors into the safety aspect. He suggested the connection to Rockwood Dr.. He has no opposition to the homes being proposed. 7. Mr. Rowntree, 1820 Woodview Ave., questioned if he would be notified of the development being proposed for the land across the street from his property. 8. Mr. A. Filice, Agent, stated that he does not believe that this development will have an adverse affect on the area. He also stated that the connection of Rockwood Dr. between Pine Grove and Woodview would not be acceptable for safety reasons. A further connection must be made east/west. 9. Jeff Cole, Planner 2, outlined the steps which must occur for approval of this application. He also advised that this application has not been approved by the Planning Department but has simply been submitted by the applicant. All comments will be considered and Planning staff will meet with the Ward Councillors and possibly a further meeting will be held with the residents.
