A Statutory Public r~eeting was held by the Pickering Town Council on Tuesday, October 11, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Mayor J.E. Anderson COUNCILLORS: W. Arthurs M. Brenner S. Coburn B. Carroll - Town Manager - Town Clerk - Deputy Cl erk - Director of Planning - Manager - Current Operations Division (I) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW FOR A 38/86 LEBOVIC ENTERPRISES BETWEEN WOODVIEW AVENUE AND ALTONA ROAD, NORTH OF TWYN RIVERS DRIVE 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division. 2. Mr. Joe Lebovic, applicant, was in attendance in support of the proposed by-law. (II) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW FOR A 20/88(R) CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, ALTONA ROAD ,,-,. 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. There were no comments in favour of or opposed to the proposed by-law. (III) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2911/88 (A 18/88) KARVON CONSTRUCTION SOUTHWEST CORNER OF FINCH AVENUE AND WHITES ROAD 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. There were no comments in favour of or opposed to the proposed by-law. "-' 15/88 (IV) 2 PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2912/88 (A 44/88) TOWN-INITIATED ROUGEMOUNT DRIVE NORTH AREA STUDY ........ 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. Helen Murray, 1434 Rougemount Drive, stated that the sideyard setbacks should have an R3 zoning which provi des for 6 feet and not R4 and that no accessory buildings be permitted. (V) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2913/88 (A 14/88) BRAMALEA LIMITED WEST SIDE OF ROSEBANK ROAD, SOUTH OF FINCH AVENUE 1. An explanation of the appl ication was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. Dianne Sutter, Bramalea Limited, was in attendance in support of the proposed by-law. .. (VI) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2914/88 (A 66/87) E. FACCHINI NORTH SIDE OF FINCH AVENUE, WEST OF AMARETTO AVENUE 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. Richard Ward, abutting property owner to the west, objected to the proposed zoning by-law. He stated the tot lot shoul d be moved to the westerly end of the applicant's land in order to be a buffer between this property and his own. 3. Grant Morris, on behalf of the applicant, stated the proposed plan is the most suitable for the lands. ....... (VII) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2915/88 (A 52/87) WILLIAM FORBES NORTH SIDE OF FINCH AVENUE, WEST OF AMARETTO AVENUE 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. Richard Ward, stated that his comments with respect to the tot lot in By-l aw 2914/88 are the same for By-l aw 2915/88. 3. Grant Morris, on behalf of the applicant, spoke in support of the proposed zoning by-law. '-" 1 5/88 '-" (VIII) 3 PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2916/88 (A 64/87) JOHN BODDY DEVELOPMENT LTD. NORTH SIDE OF FINCH AVENUE, EAST OF FAIRPORT ROAD 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. Richard Ward, spoke in opposition to the proposed by-l aw. He stated that development on Fi nch Avenue shoul d not be approved until improvements to the road can handle increased traffic. 3. The appl i cant stated that Mr. Ward I s concerns are not applicable to this by-law and spoke in support of the rezoning. ( IX) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2917/88 (A 63/87) JOHN BODDY DEVELOPMENT LTD. NORTH SIDE OF FINCH AVENUE, EAST OF FAIRPORT ROAD w 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. The applicant stated his support of the proposed by-l aw. (X) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2918/88 (A 80/87(R)) COUGS INVESTMENTS LIMITED NORTH SIDE OF FINCH AVENUE, BETWEEN WHITES ROAD AND FAIRPORT ROAD 1 . An exp 1 anati on of the app 1 i cati on was gi ven by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. The applicant stated his support of the proposed by-law. '-' (XI) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2919/88 (A 15/88) J.D.S. INVESTMENTS LIMITED TRADE CENTRE 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. There were no comments in favour of or opposed to the proposed by-law. (XII) PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW NUMBER 2920/88 (A 59/87) J.D.S. INVESTMENTS LIMITED PICKERING TOWN CENTRE 1. An explanation of the application was given by the Manager - Current Operations Division 2. There were no comments in favour of or opposed to the proposed by-law. ~ ......
