HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/18/1996 STATUTORY PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING MINUTES A Statutory Public Information Meeting was held on Thursday, April 18, 1996 at 7:00 p.m in the Council Chambers. '-' PRESENT: Councillor Dickerson - Chairman ALSO PRESENT: L. Taylor - Manager, Current Operations Division (I) DRAFf PLAN OF SUBDIVISION 18T-95001(R) ZONING BY -LAW AMENDMENT APPLICATION A 2/95(R) 672003 ONTARIO LIMITED PART OF LOTS 94, 95 AND 96, PLAN 1051 (EAST SIDE OF FAIRPORT ROAD. SOUTH OF BONITA AVENUE) '-" 1. An explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report #8/96, was given by Lynda Taylor, Manager, Current Operations Division. 2. Jim Reininger, representing the applicant, stated that the plan that is outlined in Information Report #8/96 is the same as presented at the meeting held at the Library on February 6, 1996. This plan exceeds all guideline requirements and he has discussed the new road with the residents of Appleview Road. He was willing to answer any questions raised by the public. 3. Sylvia Spencer, 771 Sheppard Avenue, questioned the location of the road on the north side of Bonita Avenue and asked if there is a need to have Lots 11, 12 and 13 front onto Bonita Avenue. 4. Ross Kennedy, 1938 Bonita Avenue, questioned the location of the park and stated his concern with its location adjacent to Fairport Road. He noted that Fairport Road is busy and was concerned about the safety of children playing in this park. He suggested that the park be located further to the east on Bonita Avenue and the lots that would be displaced be located along Fairport Road. '-' 5. Councillor Dickerson stated that the proposed park is not a traditional active park but is to be a neighbourhood tot lot and a fence will be required to alleviate the safety concern. This park has been and continues to be under active discussion with all Members of Council. There is no need to re-align the lots in this draft plan of subdivision because the lots in the draft plan on the north side of Bonita Avenue were not re-aligned. SOUTH OF CONCESSION 5 ROAD) 1. An explanation of the application, as outlined in Information Report #9/96, was given by Lynda Taylor, Manager, Current Operations Division.
