Paterson Director of Finance & Treasurer DATE: June 17, 1999 REPORT NUMBER: FIN 05-99 SUBJECT: Statement of the Treasurer Respecting 1998 Remuneration and Expense Payments to Members of Council and Council Appointees RECOMMENDA nON: It is recommended that Council receive for information the Statement of the Treasurer for the year 1998. ORIGIN: Director of Finance & Treasurer - AUTHORITY: Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, Section 247(1). FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Not applicable EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Not applicable BACKGROUND: - Section 24 7( 1) of the Municipal Act states in part that the Treasurer of every municipality shall, in each year, submit" to the Council of the municipality, an itemized statement of the remuneration and expenses paid to each Member of Council. The statement must also include remuneration and expenses paid to any other person who has been Council appointed to serve as a member of a local board, excluding a hydro electric commission. Payments for expenses include a claim for mileage, conferences and meals.
