RECOMMENDATION:
That Report CL 31-99 regarding the Appointment of By-law Enforcement Officers be received; and
That the draft by-law to appoint eight persons to enforce the Parking By-law at DCC #1, 1210 Radom St.; DCC #31, 1360 Glenanna Rd.; DCC #42, 1319 Fieldlight Blvd.; DCC #51, 1958 Rosefield
Rd.; DCC #52, 580 Eyer Dr.; DCC #58, 1975 Rosefield Rd.; DCC #60, 1915 Denmar Rd.; DCC #93/106, 1880/1890 Valley Farm Rd.; DCC #136, 1525/35 Diefenbaker and 1530/40 Pickering Parkway;

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NO.
Being a by-law to appoint By-law Enforcement Officers for certain purposes (Parking Regulation - DCC #1, DCC #31, DCC #42, DCC #51, DCC #52, DCC #58, DCC #60, DCC #93/106, DCC #136,
DCC #139, DCC #152, OCC #2, OCC #11).
WHEREAS pursuant to section 15(1) of the Police Services Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 15, as amended, a municipal council may appoint persons to enforce the by-laws of the municipality; and
WHEREAS pursuant to section 15(2) of the said Act, municipal by-law enforcement officers are peace officers for the purpose of enforcing municipal by-laws;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following persons be hereby appointed as municipal law enforcement officers in and for the Town of Pickering in order to ascertain whether the provisions of By-law 2359/87 are
obeyed and to enforce or carry into effect the said By-law and is hereby authorized to enter at all reasonable times upon lands municipally known as DCC #1, 1210 Radom St.; DCC #31,
1360 Glenanna Rd.; DCC #42, 1319 Fieldlight Blvd.; DCC #51, 1958 Rosefield Rd.; DCC #52, 580 Eyer Dr.; DCC #58, 1975 Rosefield Rd.; DCC #60, 1915 Denmar Rd.; DCC #93/106, 1880/1890 Valley
Farm Rd.; DCC #136, 1525/35 Diefenbaker and 1530/40 Pickering Parkway; DCC #139, 1400 The Esplanade, Casitas; DCC #152, 1625 Pickering Parkway; OCC #2, 925 Bayly St.; OCC #11, 1235 Radom

2. The authority granted in section 1 hereto is specifically limited to that set out in section 1, and shall not be deemed, at any time, to exceed the authority set out in section 1.
3. These appointments shall expire upon the persons listed in section 1 hereof ceasing to be employees of Group 4 C.P.S. Limited or upon Group 4 C.P.S. Limited ceasing to be an authorized
agent of DCC #1, DCC #31, DCC #42, DCC #51, DCC #52, DCC #58, DCC #60, DCC #93/106, DCC #136, DCC #139, DCC #152, OCC #2, OCC #11, or whichever shall occur first.
4. By-law 5457/99 is hereby amended by deleting Mike Burger and Ryan Picard.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 28th day of June, 1999.
