P.52. ______________________________________________________________________________ FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Current Year - not applicable ______________________________________________________________________________ EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: N/A ______________________________________________________________________________ BACKGROUND: Please find attached to this Report a copy of a draft by-law to fix the salaries of the Commissioners of the Pickering Hydro-Electric Commission for the period commencing December 1, 1998 and expiring on November 30, 2000. Also attached is a copy of Pickering Hydro’s letter requesting that this matter come before Council for their approval at the earliest opportunity and a copy of Resolution #2217/98 of the Commission. ______________________________________________________________________________ ATTACHMENTS: 1. Quinn, CAO   THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO.                     Being a by-law to fix the salaries of the Commissioners of the Pickering Hydro-Electric Commission for the period commencing December 1, 1998 and expiring on November 30, 2000. WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 44(I) of the Public Utilities Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.52, the salary of such commissioners shall from time to time be fixed by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows: 1. The salaries of the members of the Pickering Hydro-Electric Commission for the period from December 1, 1998 to November 30, 2000, be set as follows: a) Chairman $4,000.00 per annum b) Commissioner $3,400.00 per annum 2. That a per diem salary apply to special meetings, seminars and conferences other than the regularly scheduled monthly Commission Meetings as follows: $50.00 per half day, at which a member attends additional meetings. 3. For the purposes of section 2, the term “special meetings” shall mean, a) convention and seminars, b) any meeting of a designated committee or subcommittee of the Commission, and c) any meeting of the Commission occurring outside the Town of Pickering, other than a regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission.
