SUBJECT: Appointments to Committee of Adjustment and Museum Advisory Committee
RECOMMENDATION:
That Report #CL 39/98 be received; and
That the draft by-law to re-appoint Councillor Holland and Councillor Johnson to the Committee of Adjustment, and to appoint Councillor Pickles to the Museum Advisory Committee for a
term to expire on November 30, 1999, be forwarded to Council for enactment.
or
That the draft by-law to appoint Councillor ____________ and Councillor _____________ to the Committee of Adjustment, and to appoint Councillor Pickles to the Museum Advisory Committee
for a term to expire on November 30, 1999 be forwarded to Council for enactment.

BACKGROUND:
Councillors Holland and Johnson were originally appointed to the Committee of Adjustment and Councillor Johnson was appointed to the Museum Advisory Committee, all for a one year term
to expire on November 30, 1998, by By-law 5179/97.
Council are requested to either re-appoint Councillors Holland and Johnson for a further one year term to expire on November 30, 1997, or to appoint two new Councillors for a one year
term to expire on November 30, 1997.
At the same time Council is requested to appoint Councillor Pickles to the Museum Advisory Committee for a one year term to expire on November 30, 1998.
The above appointments will require the enactment of the attached draft by-law.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NO.
Being a by-law to appoint persons to various
agencies, boards and committees.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering enacted By-law Number 5179/97 on December 22, 1997 to appoint persons to various agencies, boards and committees; and
WHEREAS the appointments made to the Committee of Adjustment and the Museum Advisory Committee expire on November 30, 1998;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 4 of By-law Number 5179/97 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the following:
Councillor Johnson and Councillor Holland from December 1, 1997 to November 30, 1998
and substituting therefore the following:
Councillor___________ and Councillor _____________ from December 1, 1998 to November 30, 1999
2. Section 9 of By-law Number 5179/97 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the following:
Councillor Johnson from December 1, 1997 to November 30, 1998
and substituting therefore the following:
Councillor Pickles from December 1, 1998 to November 30, 1999
3. This By-law shall take effect on December 1, 1998.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 19th day of October, 1998.
