Ashe - Chairman Reeve J. R. Williams Councillor Mrs. J.L. McPherson Councillor D. Kitchen Councillor R. Chatten Councillor J. Kruger Director - Mr. D.E. Bass 1. ADOPTION OF MINUTES MOVED by Councillor Kruger, Seconded by Councillor J.L. McPherson, THAT the minutes 1/70 of a meeting held on January 27th 1970 be adopted as presented. CARRIED 2. PROPOSED PROCEDURES TO AMALGAMATE COMMUNITY CENTRE BOARDS INTO ONE BODY Motion 4/70 MOVED by Councillor Chatten, Seconded by Councillor Kruger, THAT the Parks & Recreation Committee remain as a Committee of Council and the following responsibility flow-chart be established within the Township Committee of Council J of Parks lctor & Recreation r Area Recreation Association " f J I Hockey Softball Soccer Association Association Association CARRIED The proposed con~t1tution for Area Recreation Associations is to be altered to include the following: (a) That all properties, buildings. monies and equipment are to be the property of the Township. If an Area Recreation Association should dissolve, all property. buildings, monies and equi~nt shall revert under the control of the Township Council. (b) That the Township Council has the right to audit the financial records of an AS8ociation. Continued......2 - 2 - 3. REPORT ON PICKERING TOWNSHIP SPO~T ARENA The Council agreed, in theory, to the following: (1) Opening Date - May 30th or May 3lst. (2) Hiring of Staff - Assistant Director and 2 Maintenance ~n: Job Descriptions have been prepared and will be presented to the Committee of Whole on Personnel. (3) Securing of Equipment - These items will be included into the budget and will be presented to the Committee of the Whole on Finance. (4) Allocation of ice time - As per following Motion. Motion 5/70 MOVED by Councillor Chat ten, Seconded by Councillor Mrs. McPherson, THAT we agree in principii that the Township control the operation of the summer ice programme at the discretion of the Parks & Recreation Director. CARRIE) Motion 6/70 MOVED by Councillor R. Chatten, Seconded by eouAcillor J. Kruger, THAT a letter be sent to Mr. William Saccoccio, Architect, expressing the concern of Council in the delay of the completion of the Pickering Township Sport Arena, and that the architect be informed that a completion date of ßO later than May 15th be established. CARRIED 4. MINOR HOCKEY FINANCIAL REPORT Council directed the Director of Parks & Recreation to secure from the Pickering Township Hockey League and the West Rouge Minor Hockey League the anticipated expenditQ~es that will require Council's assistance during the current hockey season. 5.
