1. How does a document like this get coupled with the
implementation of an emergency plan in Pickering?
Including evacuation or other special instructions ie:
flooding, fault lines etc.
2. High risk communities need additional public alerting
capabilities (ie: Nuclear Plants; British Columbia @ or
below sea level). Are we a high risk community?
3. Live tests are recommended - we really need to
communicate this. How would we do live tests without
scaring the community?
4. Language (p 28). Ie Buffalo - Emergency broadcasting.
Recommend consider use of pictograms / crawlers along
the bottom of the screen in various languages. Print
material to also be in Braille. Educational materials
should be in appropriate formats.
5. What happened at the March Forum (pg 7). Why did we
receive after March 05? Clarification required: Seems to
speak to only visually and hearing impaired - needs to
look at a range of disabilities. Seems to be a line drawn
between ALERTING and EVACUATION.
